School Franchise FAQs

What is Franchising? Where did the concept come from?

The word franchisee comes from Old French, meaning privilege or freedom. Today franchising is an excellent opportunity for those individuals who realise their dream and go into business for themselves.

Franchising is a format in which the franchisors grant a licence to a FRANCHISEE which permits the Franchisee to operate under the franchisor’s trademarks and to make use of an entire package comprising all the elements necessary to establish a previously untrained person in the business and run it with continual assistance on an ongoing basis.

Why is Franchising Growing so rapidly?

In a sense, franchising is a business model with primary risk minimisation. Every study ever done on the success rate of new (non-franchisee) business startups concludes that starting up a new business is very risky. Most studies show that over 90% fail within one year. The primary reason the failure rate is so high is that the owners have to go through the learning curve of operating the business. Unfortunately, the marketplace is not very tolerant of the inexperienced new type trying to learn how to manage a new business. If you can’t compete in the marketplace, you can go bust, and you lose money, your credit, your home, your reputation and sometimes even your family. Failing in business can be a horrible experience. Unfortunately, this happens to thousands of poor souls every year in the world. Itt is so necessary that unless you have considerable experience in the specific business you intend to get into, it is very probable that you will fail.

What are the characteristics of a successful franchisee?

1. The franchisee’s location is essential. You want to ensure that you are working with a franchise close to you. This will make it easier for you to run your business.
2. The franchisee should be optimistic. This is important because it will keep you motivated.
3. The franchisee should be moderately independent. This is important because it will allow you to run your business in the best way for you.
4. The franchisee should be good at sales and marketing. This is important because it will help you to reach more customers.
5. The franchisee should be social. This is important because it will help you to build relationships with customers and other business partners.
6. The franchisee should be adept at following the system. This is important because it will help you to run your business smoothly.
7. The franchisee should be a jack of all trades. This is important because it will help you to be able to do a variety of things in your business.

Starting your School Vs Taking a Franchise of a School- Pros & cons

There are many reasons to start school. The most common cause is the potential to make more money. With your school, you can set your tuition, choose your curriculum, and hire your staff. You also have the freedom to select your school name, colours, and mascot.

However, there are also several disadvantages to starting your school. The most significant disaburdenthe time and money it takes to get a new school up and running.

There are also many reasons to take a school franchise. The most common cause is the support you will receive from the franchisor. Additionally, many franchisors have a national or regional reputation, which can help attract students and families to your school.

However, there are also several disadvantages to taking a school franchisee. The most significant burden is the cost. Franchisors typically charge an upfront franchise fee, as well as ongoing royalties. Additionally, you may be required to purchase supplies and materials from the franchisor.

What do Statistics Say about the Success of Franchising Vs Non-Franchise Business?

– 80% of new start-ups close within 5 years and 80% of franchisees are successful after five years.
– The U.S. Department of Commerce states that 90% of franchises are still in operation after ten years, compared to just 18% for other forms of small schools.
– A 1999 study by The United States Chamber of Commerce found that 97% of franchises opened within the last five years were open for business.
– A U.S. Department of Commerce study conducted from 1971 to 1997 showed that less than 5% of franchise schools were closed yearly.
– A U.S. Small Business Administration study conducted between 1978 to 1998 found that 62% of non-franchised schools closed within the first six years of their existence due to failure, bankruptcy, etc.

Which age group of children will you cater to if you take your Preschool franchise?

If you’re considering taking on a school franchise, you’re probably wondering which age group of children you’ll be catering to. Our franchise model is for children aged 2 to 5, after which they usually go to formal schools. However, if parents feel your system is better than the local schools. In that case, you can upgrade the franchise and add one class each year as infrastructure allows. This way, you can continue to provide top-quality education to children in your community from preschool through to primary school and even to class 12th.

Where will kids go after UKG after studying at my preschool?

After UKG, most kids go on to formal schooling. The age at which they graduate from UKG and enter into formal schooling depends on the entrance levels of the popular schools in your area. Some schools take children from LKG, some from UKG, and some from class one onwards.

Therefore, if you plan to open a preschool, you need to research the entrance levels of the popular schools in your area and plan your room availability accordingly. This is important because if real estate is expensive, you want to ensure you have enough children to cover the rent costs.

The role of a preschool is to give children a foundation for life and to prepare them for formal schooling. Preschoolers can play a transitional role between home and formal education by providing a loving and caring environment.

What are the school timings in your school franchise?

Usually, the school time is from 9 am to 12:30 pm for children in a school and from 8 am to 2 pm in primary and secondary school. Teachers normally come half an hour before and leave half an hour after the children, unless they are using the school bus., They will follow the exact student timings as the children.

How many students can I get in 1st year in the preschool?

The number of students you can get in your first year of operation depends on various factors. Your infrastructure, the order of your advertisement schedule, your marketing strategies, and what alternative parents have in that area are just some of the factors that come into play.

Your marketing strategy is one of the most critical factors in determining how many students you can get in your first year. You need to ensure that you are reaching out to your target market and that you are doing so effectively.

Another important factor is the competition in your area. If there are already many schools in your area, you may have a more challenging time attracting students. However, if you are the only school in your area, you may have an easier time attracting students.

If you have any questions about how many students you can expect in your first year, please contact my team. Our team will be happy to give you a more specific answer considering the various factors in your community.

What skills are needed to take your franchise? Any technical skills required.

You are considering taking on a franchise with us and are wondering what skills are needed. Let us assure you that you do not need any special skills. Whatever skills are required, we will train you on that. It makes it more difficult for people who are used to running their school because they have to learn to do things our way.
However, some other essential skills are needed to ensure the franchise is booming.

First and foremost, you must have an open mind to learning. We have a specific way of doing things that may differ from what we are used to. It is essential to be available to learn the new system to be successful.

In addition, you should be comfortable with making decisions. As the franchise owner, you will be responsible for making decisions about the school’s operation. This includes decisions about staffing, implementing the curriculum, and other aspects of the school. You should be comfortable with making these decisions to be successful.

Finally, you should be passionate about education. This important tool necessary to Passion drives success in any arena, and education is no different. If you are not passionate about making a difference in students’ lives, then a school franchise may not be the right fit for you.
Will it be a good idea to start a School as I am from a different industry and don’t have any experience in schooling?

Suppose you’re from a different industry and don’t have any experience in schooling. In that case, you might wonder if it’s a good idea.

The good news is that it’s perfectly fine to have no background in schooling. Many of our franchisees come from different industries and have successfully run their schools.

Most importantly, you are eager to learn and have an open mind. As long as you can deliver the system, parents will be satisfied.

Starting a school can be a great way to make a difference in the lives of children. Suppose you are passionate about education and are willing to put in the work. In that. In that case, it can be an enriching experience.

How much of my time will be required to run the school?

The level of involvement required from franchisees can range from very hands-on franchisees to almost entirely investor-type franchisees, with professionals running the show. So, depending on your availability, you may choose the level of involvement you want. Of course, the saying goes that the more time you put in, the better the results will be. But, how much time you put in is up to you.

If you are getting well paid for your time elsewhere and feel like your time is better utilised elsewhere, you can take a hands-off approach and be more like an investor. However, you do have to keep track of the school by asking the right questions and ensuring that the staff you hire is of high quality and shares your passion for the project.

On the other hand, as a hands-on franchisee, you will be more involved in the day-to-day operations of the franchise. You will need to be at the office every morning to open up the software and download the curriculum. While this means you will be more involved, it also means that you can ensure the optimum implementation of the system.

If you’re worried that something is not up to the mark in the early stages, remember that there are ready-made systems in place that are designed to be implemented by franchisees. So, you can rest assured that the system is cutting edge,, and you will not have to worry about that. It ultimately depends on what you,, as the franchisee,, are looking for and can afford in terms of time and energy.

I already have a school- Can I convert it into your franchise?

If you already have a school, you may wonder if you can convert it into our franchise. The answer is yes! After years of trying unsuccessfully to run with “hit and trial” many school entrepreneurs, many school entrepreneurs convert their school into our franchise. There are many benefits to this, including the increased demand from parents for quality education and the ability to attract better quality teachers. Plus, having a brand name is always a plus! We will try to reuse whatever infrastructure you have and then discuss it with you based on your finances and investment plan. In most cases, the infrastructure is not up to par and does not create a “wow” factor among students and teachers. You may need to change the infrastructure, and together we will agree upon a plan going forward on how to ease the transition from your local school to our franchise.

How long will it take to set up the preschool?

If you’re looking to open a new school branch, you’re probably wondering how long the process will take. The answer may vary depending on several factors, but typically, we can launch a school in 4 weeks.

This includes interior work, hiring, ordering books and uniforms, training the staff, and launching the school – all of which happen in parallel. Of course, some factors may take longer than others (for example, hiring may take longer if you’re waiting for the perfect candidate). However, generally, four weeks is a reasonable estimate.

So if you’re looking to open a new school branch, start the process soon, and you could be open for business in just a month!

Can I get the school interior done with my local team of carpenters, painters & designers? It might be cheaper!

Suppose you have your team of carpenters, painters and artists. In that case, you might be thinking that it would be cheaper to use them to do the work on your school interior instead of hiring our team. However, there are a few things you should keep in mind before making this decision.

Firstly, your team members probably don’t have the same experience as our team members. This means that they will take longer to complete the work, and there is a greater chance of making mistakes and requiring rework. These mistakes can be costly, and in some cases, they might need that the work be redone entirely.

Secondly, when you use our team, you won’t have to spend any time supervising them. Our team members are experienced and know how to work without supervision. This will save you valuable time.

Lastly, our team members are not expensive interior designers. We use a team of experienced and skilled craftsmen who know how to create a fantastic experience for your students using the locally procured material efficiently. This means that hiring our team will save you money, and time, and you can focus on launching your school rather than micromanaging the setup team.

Will I be able to purchase furniture and similar materials from the market?

You can purchase setup materials which are the same as what we provide. Typically, brands don’t allow this, but we feel that if you’re getting a better deal in the local market, please go ahead and save some money! This is something special about us and speaks to our ethics.

If I take your school franchise - Will I get content and curriculum from your side?

The content and curriculum are crucial aspects of any school. At our school, we are committed to providing our franchisees with everything they need to deliver a high-quality education to their students. As our franchisee, you will receive the content and curriculum necessary to run your school successfully. This includes lesson plans, guidelines, circulars, books, and homework instructions. With our school, you can be confident that you will have everything you need to deliver a top-notch education to your students.

Will you provide me with books, uniforms etc..?

As the franchisor, we will provide you with books, uniforms, and all the necessary materials to get what you may require. This standardisation also allows schools to have the same books, uniforms, and equipment no matter where a parent gets transferred. This also means that we only write books when we feel the market is not offering good quality books. We survey our school heads, asking if they have found a better book in the market since different publishers always approach themhers. We evaluate all new book sets and compare them with the existing ones. If we feel that there is a scope for improvement, we make the change.

Can I introduce my books in addition to yours if I take your school franchise?

If you’re considering taking a school franchise, you might be wondering if you can introduce your books in addition to the ones that come with the franchise. The answer is yes, you can introduce your own books, but you’ll need to discuss it with the academic team first.

Our curriculum is already packed, so the team will need to know precisely what you plan to implement. Typically, branches want to introduce a local language to our curriculum. If that’s what you’re planning, the team will help you integrate your modules into the timetable.

But regardless of what you’re planning, the academic team will be able to help you figure out how to implement your modules into the franchise curriculum best. So if you’re considering taking a school franchise, don’t let the thought of introducing your own books hold you back – go for it!

Can I include my programs along with yours?

Yes, you can include your programs along with ours! You can offer additional services at the school, such as sports coaching, tuition, and hobby classes. However, there are three conditions that you must adhere to:
1. The programs must be conducted after school hours.
2. The programs must not be mandatory for children attending the school.
3. The programs must not use our brands in any way

How much flexibility do I have as a franchise owner?

As a franchise owner, you have much flexibility. Unlike franchisees of popular fast food restaurants, who are supposed to follow the system precisely as it is, school franchisees have many variabilities built into the system. This is because every city is different, and every child & parent has different needs & expectations. The model franchise system is designed to give each child a primary education that meets the minimum standards set by the franchisor. However, it is up to the franchisee to implement the system to meet their particular area’s needschisees must constantly be trained in new techniques and tools to keep up with the latest pedagogical methods.

Easier Recruitment & Management of staff

How many staff are required for my preschool?

Having the right amount of human resources is important when running a school. Initially, you will need one teacher and one assistant. As enrollment grows, you will need to hire more teachers and assistants. With more children, you will also need to provide more food. As your school grows, you will need to keep increasing your staff to ensure that the children are well taken care of.

When you take your franchise - what kind of help will I get in the Recruitment of staff?

When you partner with us, you’ll get more than just a great brand name – you’ll get all the support you need to find and recruit the best staff for your new school.

Here’s how we’ll help you save time and money in the recruitment process:
We can help you set up campus placements in your local universities and teacher training colleges and get the word out to talented students.

We maintain active accounts with all the major job portals, so we can source resumes for you and make the recruitment process more straightforward.

We have an extensive database of qualified candidates, so you can be sure you’re choosing from the best of the best.
And finally, we offer ready-to-use HR policies and support from experienced professionals to ensure your employer-employee relationships are always smooth sailing.

The HR department will shortlist resumes from significant job portals, our database and your references. The candidates go through multiple rounds of interviews from the HR department followed by the academic department,, and sometimes,, if there is a doubt,, the management also takes that interview. The resumes are shortlisted and sent to you,, and of course, you can have the final say because you have to work with them on a day-to-day basis and also their salary,, so you should be comfortable working with them. We believe that the franchise and the franchisor both have to be ok with the candidate; else, if either of the parties is not satisfied then we do not hire them. Once they are finalised, we will try to train them on aspects of running the school, and they will be given access to all the resources they need to run a successful school.

We are in a rural location – will local teachers be capable enough to implement your curriculum properly?

When creating our curriculum, we were very aware that teacher quality is not always up to the highest standards. Therefore, we have designed a curriculum that is very easy to implement. It is meant for a layman, somebody with no background in teaching who can read and follow instructions. We realised that we could not depend on teacher capability for quality, so we designed our well-researched curriculum to be easy to implement so that even a layperson can implement it. However, we constable train our teachers to take our curriculum and use that as a starting point to improve it and customise it as per the learning needs of the children in her class.

Can I hire outstation teachers for the school- since it is a rural area and I won't be able to find good teachers locally?

As the world progresses, more and more opportunities are opening up in rural areas. But with these opportunities comes the need for higher-quality schooling, which can be challenging to find in more remote locations. While this can be an effective way to get quality teachers for rural areas, there are some important considerations to remember before going this route.

First and foremost, outstation teachers will be more expensive than local ones since you will need to pay to get them to live in your city and leave their hometowns. You will also need to provide semi-furnished accommodation and pick and drop to the school – which all adds to the costs. Since parents in rural areas have limited paying capacity, we need to be careful in a way we control the costs while offering a much better school experience than your local competition.

Another important consideration is that there have been incidents of groups among outstation teachers,, and sometimes they have left the school together without notice, leaving the school stranded. This is something to be aware of if you consider hiring outstation teachers for your rural school.

Since you are in a rural area, you need to consider all of these factors before making a decision. You also need to check your business plan to see if you can make this work. This model works in areas where the locals have money and are willing to pay for quality but are traditional due to conservative values or lack of good schools. An indicator for such an area is that many buses from the cities pick up children from your asite

Can my family members work in the school? Can my wife become an HM?

Yes,, in fact the whole family can be involved in the school. Opening a school is one of the best ways to engage family members in a school because there are so many aspects of a school that the people are capable of adding value to,, and if your wife for some median the family wishes to become the headmistress don’t worry you will train her,, and of course, our curriculum is so easy to execute that anyone can become the school head unit they have no background at all.

Ongoing Training ensures you can achieve better results with the same staff.

Franchising has become popular for those looking to open their project. And, with good reason. Buying a franchise can be less risky than starting a project from scratch. When you buy a franchise, you’re buying into an established brand. You benefit from the marketing that the franchisor has already done. And, you have access to tried-and-true systems and processes. But, what many people don’t realise is that franchises can also be a more efficient way to use your working capital.

When you buy a franchise, you’re buying into an established brand. You don’t have to spend as much on marketing and advertising to get your school off the ground. The franchisor has already done the legwork to build brand awareness and attract parents. You can piggyback on that investment and get your school up and running more quickly and with less money.

Another way that forces can help you save on working capital is by providing ongoing training to franchisees and their staff. When you have access to ongoing training, you can ensure that your employees are always up-to-date on the latest products, services, and procedures. This can help you avoid mistakes and improve efficiency, saving you money in the long run.

As a franchisee, you can benefit from those relationships with suppliers for bulk rates and get better pricing on the things you need to run your school.

With an established brand, ongoing training, and bulk purchasing power, franchising can help you stretch your budget and get your school up and running more quickly and efficiently.

Will we have to follow the same fee structure that existing branches are charging?

After all, deciding the correct fee for your school is a critical decision. Once you’ve announced the launch of your school to the public, you can’t change the fee structure frequently. And if you make changes, it can show a lack of confidence in your actions. However, we understand that it can be challenging to decide on your own, which is why we offer guidance and support to help you make the best decision for your franchise.

First, we look at what other branches of ours in similar locations are charging. This gives us an idea of what parents in that area are used to paying. We take into account the experience of similar franchises and surveys conducted in your area to help recommend a fee that will work best for you.

Second, we look at what the local competition is charging. This helps us see the going rate for schools in that area. You don’t want to be the most expensive school. However, you also don’t want to be the cheapest – we want to offer parents the best “Value for Money” within the budget of the majority of parents.

Based on these two factors, our marketing department will help you to decide the correct fee for your school. Ultimately, though, the decision is up to you,, and we want to ensure that you are comfortable with the fee you set. That is why we believe that you have the final say.

How will Taking the franchise increase my revenues?

As a result of globalisation, people are increasingly on the move, seeking opportunities for themselves and their families. The traditional concept of the “local school” is becoming increasingly obsolete. To stay ahead of the curve, schools must have a presence in multiple locations. This is where our school franchise comes in.
Our school has been established for over 30 years and has an excellent reputation. We have a strong brand identity which is recognised and preferred by parents. As a result, we can charge a higher fee than many of our competitors since parents are buying for the brand – which gives assurance of quality education.

In addition to our brand strength, we also have impressive infrastructure, including our own purpose-built premises, customised books, self-designed curriculum and remarkable track record.

This results in higher conversions from parents who visit our school looking for admission.

We also offer a free inter-school transfer service, preferred by those in transferable jobs.

This means that we can attract students from a wide range of backgrounds, resulting in higher revenues.

If I take a school franchise, will parents be able to afford a branded school since it may be expensive and out of their budget?

Yes,, in fact the whole family can be involved in the school. Opening a school is one of the best ways to engage family members in a school because there are so many aspects of a school that the people are capable of adding value to,, and if your wife for some median the family wishes to become the headmistress don’t worry you will train her,, and of course, our curriculum is so easy to execute that anyone can become the school head unit they have no background at all.

Is the setup cost for the school negotiable?

As an investor, you may wonder if the costs associated with setting up a new school are negotiable. The answer is that, while some costs may be able to be negotiated, others are set in stone and cannot be changed.

The first cost that you will need to consider is the franchise fee. This is a standard fee that all new schools must pay to operate. This fee is non-negotiable and must be borne in full before the school can open its doors.

The second part is the cost of setting up the school itself. This includes the cost of renting or buying a building, hiring staff, and purchasing furniture and equipment. The exact price of these items will vary depending on the school’s location and size – you can save money by taking our recommendations and purchasing them while comparing them to the prices we share with you!

Why is Royalty charged on revenue, not net profit?

It’s a common question asked by those new to franchising or considering investing in a franchise – why is royalty charged on revenue and not net profit?

There are a few critical reasons for this. Firstly, profits can be manipulated since expenses can be inflated. This means that it would be difficult to accurately calculate what a franchisor’s actual net profit was.

Secondly, checking bills and invoices to ensure there are no fake or inflated expenses would lead to much distrust between franchisor and franchisee. This would ultimately damage the relationship between them.

And thirdly, taking royalty on revenue is simply a more straightforward way of calculating it. What should matter to franchisees is the amount they are paying and whether they feel they are getting value for money. If they are happy with the franchise, they will stay. If not, they will leave.

So there you have it. Royalty is charged on revenue because it’s a more accurate and straightforward way of calculating it.

As initially, we will be at a loss; why do you take royalty from the 1st month onwards?

In The first month, you will not be making money. You want to be disciplined that the money right is taken from 1st month onwards because even if you have five children or two children or one child,, you are still losing money, but our support remains the same. The amount is small,, but the discipline that we want to have in all our branches for just like once your school is has high revenues we don’t increase our charges as well,, but when you are where you are starting, we would like that you get into the habit that whatever small amount if it is for example if you are this one child the amount that you’re paying for it would be very small but the support your getting is much much more because it takes much more effort to put the car then to on the car starts rolling that’s required has less effort to push a moving car.

Will your franchise fee remain constant or keep increasing or decreasing with time?

When you become a franchisee, you agree to pay a set fee to the franchisor in exchange for the right to use their brand and receive support and guidance in operating your franchise.
This is a critical element of the franchisor-franchisee relationship because it ensures that both parties are motivated to grow the school. You might wonder if the fee will stay constant or increase/decrease over time, and the answer is that it will remain the same. No matter how many children you have, the fee will remain the same. So, don’t worry about the fee increase – it won’t! We want you to feel secure in your investment and know that we are committed to providing you with the support you need to grow your school.

There are many schools out there that don't charge a franchise fee or royalty. Aren’t they better?

It’s pronounced that the no franchise fee no royalty models are doing one of two things: one is not charging anything; they cannot give you anything. There is no sustainable model in which somebody will say that they will support you and do not charge you anything- I call it the “hidden charge model” so that you can take the franchise fee and royalty module which is a transparent model on you will go for the hidden charges because such brands are not charging any money up front there only model will be to try and make you purchased things from them which are overpriced and low quality because of the, more, the more significant the margins. For example, if you run your school and tell the parents I will not charge you fees 0- is that sustainable- what will you do? Will force them to buy overpriced books & uniforms and overcharge for activities leading to unhappy parents who will feel they are cheated. That’s the same experience you will have. Such Franchisors are interested in only one thing- pushing their products into your school – that’s how they survive,, resulting in a straining franchisor-franchisee relationship since the franchisees feel betrayed.

There are many benefits to a franchise fee and royalty model, which is the “transparent model”. For one, it is a sustainable model. The franchise fee ensures that the franchisee has the resources they need to support the franchise and grow it over time. Additionally, the royalty model allows the franchisor to reinvest in the brand, which helps to maintain quality and keep the franchise running smoothly.

Another benefit of the franchise fee and royalty model is that it is a transparent model. The franchisor is upfront about the costs of running the franchise, and there are no hidden fees. This makes it easier for franchisees to budget and plan for the future.

Finally, the franchise fee and royalty model allows the franchisor to create a community of support for the franchisees. By reinvesting in the brand, the franchisor can provide resources and assistance to franchisees when needed. This helps to create a sense of loyalty and commitment among franchisees, which can help the franchise succeed in the long run.

A Bright Future

What if I book the franchise but cannot find a location?

When you book a franchise with us, we will do our utmost to help you find the perfect location for your school. However, suppose we cannot find a suitable place despite our best efforts. In that case, we will refund your money in full.

Per my lawyer, the agreement has all the points in favour of the company. Will it be right to sign it?
Yes, the agreement has most clauses in favour of the company. The reason is that since we have given you our brand, you also collect the money from the parents -the agreement is the only thing we have to show that our schools follow the system as committed. Any brand with a weak franchise agreement would not be a good franchise since their franchisees will be running the school as per their whims and fancies putting a question mark over the brand since they have less control over the franchisees. Good franchisees in such chains mostly get frustrated at the inability of the franchisor to control nearby franchisees who keep spoiling the brand that the “good” franchisees are trying to build.
Quality is something that is the reason why you choose a franchise; then choose the franchisor which has a strong franchise agreement. It is in your favour!

What if the school that I start does not do well?

This is a question that I am sure many people have asked themselves before starting school. After all, creating a school is a big undertaking,, and there is always the risk that it might not be successful.

There are a few things that you can do to reduce the risk of your school not doing well. First, make sure that you have a well-thought-out business plan. This will give you a roadmap to follow and help you avoid making common mistakes that can lead to failing schools.

Next, make sure you are realistic about the potential for your school. Don’t set your expectations too high and be prepared for some bumps in the road. Every school has challenges, so it’s essential to be ready for them.

In addition, don’t be afraid to ask for help. As a franchisee,, There are many resources available to help you grow your school.

Finally, understand that you may not be able to control everything. Some things, like the economy, are out of your control. Be prepared for the possibility that the school may not do as well as you hope.

Starting a school is a big undertaking, but it can be an enriching experience. By being prepared and realistic, you can increase your chances of success.

Will you affiliate with more than one franchise in my town?

The decision to affiliate more than one franchise in a place/city/town will be based on several factors, including market size, population density, travel time and growth potential. We don’t want our branches to compete, so we’ll look at smaller areas for schools, slightly larger for primary schools, and more and more rooms for secondary school branches. If we are unsure, check with our franchisees to see if any substantial numbers are coming from that area or if it would be ok to open a new branch. We are committed to each franchisee who has joined our family!

Can I start more than one franchise?

The answer is yes; you can take on multiple franchises if you choose. However, we recommend that new franchisees start with just one school first. This will allow you to learn the ropes of how the franchise operates and what it takes to be successful. Once you have a handle on things, you can then expand to additional franchises if you’d like.

Many of our franchises have gone on to take multiple franchises. But with any new venture, there is always some risk involved. So we say, start small with one school and minimum investment. That way, you can always scale up if everything goes well.

Can I upgrade to primary or senior secondary or open a feeder school?

Many of our preschool branches are now primary schools. However, many parents were unwilling to leave the school and kept putting pressure on the franchise to increase classes and add more categories. That’s how the Primary School Modly came about.

So if you start your school with us from school to primary to secondary, the advantage with us is that you’re tied with different brands for different franchises in the same curriculum, from school to class 12th. This makes it easy to implement, and parents have the same experience.

If you start a secondary school and at some point, you might notice an area in a small town near your school where the older children are coming,, but the younger children aren’t, because of the distance. In this case, you can either talk to the parents and see if they’re willing to send their children to your school, or you can open a feeder school in that location.

Can I sell the school in future?

If you’re thinking about selling your school, there are a few things you need to take into account. It’s not as simple as just finding a buyer and handing over the keys – there are a few challenges you need to be aware of.

One of the biggest challenges is that you must ensure the school can function without you. This means having competent staff in place who can take over the school’s running, as well as systems and structures that are in place to ensure the smooth running of the school.

Another challenge is finding a buyer. This can be difficult, especially if you don’t want the news to become public and cause panic among students and staff. However, if you sell the school as a franchise, it can be much easier. This is because we always have potential franchisees interested in opening a school. The sale can be made smoothly, ensuring you get a premium for the effort, investment and passion you have spent!
