Nursery Admissions for First-borns a Disadvantage?

The ongoing nursery admission rush in the capital has already led to pandemonium among the parents and another worrying trend has emerged for the first-time parents in the capital. The presence of siblings in the applied school has been taking up a big chunk of the points allotted by nursery schools for admissions. Some reputed schools in the capital have awarded as much as 30 points for children with siblings in the chosen school. This when combined with the very controversial neighbourhood criterion leaves a very restrictive scenario for many parents. Another limiting factor has been that of parents who aren’t originally from Delhi and this removes them from scoring in the alumni status.
