| Tortoise and Hare
Once in a thick jungle lived a Tortoise and a Hare. The hare was very proud of his speed. He always used to tell other animals about how fast he could run. All the animals were tired of his boast. Therefore one day the clever tortoise challenged him for a race. When the hare heard of this challenge he laughed and said, “Ha…ha… this little tortoise is challenging me”.
The day for the race was scheduled and all the animals in the forest were invited to watch it.
The race began tortoise and hare started running. Hare started running as fast as he can. On the other hand the tortoise crawled slowly and slowly. After running for a long distance the hare stopped near a large tree. He looked here and there, when he found no one, he thought to rest for while until the tortoise reaches there. So went to sleep.
The tortoise on the other hand kept walking. He did not stop even for a single while until he reached the finish line. The animals who were watching the race cheered so loudly for Tortoise that the Hare woke up from sleep. The Hare stretched and yawned and began to run again, but it was too late. Tortoise has already won the race.
Tortoise came near the hare and said, “Never be too over confident in life, and always remember that slow and steady wins the race.”
