SHEMROCK Eases Nursery Admission Worries

With parents loosing sleep over Nursery Admission worries for their toddlers, SHEMROCK decided to ease their doubts by organizing the “Aviva Young Scholars ShemFest 2k9” at the Dilli Haat Grounds, Pitampura on 7th and 8th November.


The highlight of the event was the special Parenting Seminar, which was held on both the days in the afternoons with eminent educationalists gracing the podium and sharing Parenting Tips. Ms Sunalini Mathew, Chief Editor of Child magazine spoke on “Stress Free Learning” and gave tips on how to deal with the harrowing admission process. Combining her personal experience as well as professional knowledge, garnered over the years, she shared her “5 Little Bits of Wisdom”


Dr. Anil Sethi, Founder, renowned Career Counsellor also graced the podium and spoke on various Parenting issues. Also, addressing the audience was Mrs Promila Singh, Chief Coordinator, SHEMFORD Group of Schools. Having handled many prominent profiles in various educational institutes of repute in Delhi, HImachal & Dehra Dun, Mrs Singh opened the discussion on “Nursery Admission Guidelines and the 100-Point scale directed by the Ganguly Committee.”

 

Founder Director, SHEMROCK Group of Schools, Dr. Mrs Bimla Arora continued the discussion further and guided the parents to choose the right school for their child based on the child’s behavioral aspects, learning style and strengths. With such an informative and interactive session, hopefully the parents should now have a stress-free path to admissions. Parents throughout could be seen taking notes and were all praise for the initiative taken by SHEMROCK. A few 10+2 schools such as Delhi Public School, Pinjore and SHEMFORD had put up their stalls to counsel parents on the admission process.

 

Meanwhile the children could be seen having a blast at ShemFEST 2k9 with scores of fun-filled activities like the Baby Show, Colouring competition (conducted by AVIVA), Talent Show which included Fancy Dress & Dance Competition. Also there were Group Performances by SHEMROCK kids under the theme “SHEMROCK STARS- ROCK STARS”. A lot of parents could be seen participating enthusiastically in events like ‘Sing for your Child’, ‘Dance with your Child’, ‘Walk-in-Style with your Child’ and ‘Jam Session’, conducted under SHEMROCK’s Synergy Programme (Parent Participation Programme). Initiated by Mrs. Meenal Arora, (Executive Director of SHEMROCK & SHEMFORD Schools), this Parent Participation Programme (PPP) has been receiving overwhelming response from everyone, especially the parents, as it gives them a sense of satisfaction from participating in their child’s learning activities at SHEMROCK. With so many varied and interesting activities available for the kids, the event grounds were full with fun, laughter and masti and the parents could be seen enjoying with their kids.

 

The Mega Children’s Mela commenced with loads of surprise gifts sponsored by Lilliput, Zudaas and Club Mahindra. With so many activities and programmes at a single place, the two day event was a sure shot success with the parents and children alike.
