See how they run!
They all ran after the farmer's wife,
Who cut off their tails with a carving knife,
Did you ever see such a sight in your life,
As three blind mice?
The farmers' wife in this poem was Queen Mary I of
England who was called so because her land included a
lot of farmland. She was unhappy with three of her
noblemen whose names she could not remember! She had
them burnt at the stake.. euuuuu ..!
