Nursery Rhyme Lyrics & Meaning

Hush-a-bye, Baby,
     On the treetop,
When the wind blows
     the cradle will rock;
when the bough breaks
     the cradle will fall,
Down will come baby,
     And cradle, and all.

This poem is supposed to serve as a warning to the proud and ambitious. If you climb so high, you will generally fall at last.
