Eid-ul-Fitr’ – The Story

The festival of ‘Eid-ul-Fitr’, commonly known as ‘Eid’ is the most important festival for Muslims all over the world and is celebrated with great devotion and joviality. Eid-al-Fitr denotes the end of ‘Ramadan‘ – the month of fasting and beginning of the new month ‘Shawwal‘. On the festive occasion of Eid, Muslim devotees break their month-long fast of Ramzan or “roje” with a special prayer offering and lots of merriment. On this auspicious occasion, exotic foods & delicacies are prepared and are distributed to neighbours and friends. The festival of Eid is devoted to the spirit of love, sharing, peace and brotherhood.

This year Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on 11th September 2010 (Saturday)…
