Nursery Rhyme Lyrics & Meaning

Baa baa,
   Black Sheep,
Have you any wool?
   Yes sir, Yes sir
Three bags full:
   One for my master,
One for my dame,
   And one for the little boy
That lives in the lane!

The poem traces its origin to the middle ages when poor peasants had to give one third of their income in taxes to the king (master) one third to the noblemen ( dame ) and one third was left for himself ( little boy who lived down the lane !!)
